Economic growth is decreasing, the mountains of debts are extremely high, the environment suffers en masse from our greed. So it can no longer continue, the planet is confronted with the abyss. Lace Economist Fritz Hinterberger of the Austrian branch of the world -famous think tank “Club of Rome” speaks flat text in the “Krone”.
“Krone”: The “Club of Rome” has been trying to save the planet for more than 50 years. The core message of the study “The Limits of Growth” published in 1972 is still valid: humanity manages an overgrown construction on the resources of the earth and is busy abolishing. Do you think the global collapse can be converted? Or is it already five after twelve?
Fritz Hinterberger: Our world is on the edge. It changes irreversibly. There are environmental destructions that have serious consequences for people and for all other species on the planet. See Antarctica or the Amazon Register. The whole thing is a gradual process. In this way we approach tilt points, where these changes are irreversible and the earth will not regenerate for centuries. The good: we were certainly not convicted of looking. But we can do something to improve this situation and to delay the approaching collapse. But time pushes. With every month in which we do not reach anything, we go the wrong direction.
