For the first time, Mercadona tops the ranking of the companies with the best reputation in Spain in 2022, conducted by Merco. The supermarket chain takes first place after ten editions and thus occupies second place behind Inditex, which drops to second place this year.
Among the ‘top ten’ of the most renowned companies in Spain, after the first place of Mercadona, are Inditex, Grupo Social Once, Telefónica, Mapfre, Repsol, Ikea, Coca Cola, Nestlé and Mutua Madrileña.
Of the main ascents in this 22nd edition, Corporación Hijos de Rivera stands out, who moved from 49th to 26th place; Mango, which rises from 77º to 54º; Orange, which rose from 84th to 62nd and Ferrovial, which went from 89th to 72nd. Also notable are the additions to the monitor of Barceló Hotel Group (59th), Abanca (91st), Kutxabank (92nd) and Cellnex (94th), organizations that did not belong to the top 100 in 2021.
In terms of managers, Juan Roig (Mercadona) is the one with the greatest reputation for the fourth consecutive year, followed by Ana Botín (Santander), Amancio Ortega (Inditex), José María Álvarez-Pallete (Telefónica), Pablo Isla (IE University ) , María Dolores Dancausa (Bankinter), José Ignacio Goirigolzarri (Caixabank), Antonio Huertas (Mapfre), Isidre Fainé Casas (La Caixa Banking Foundation) and Antonio Brufau (Repsol).
In terms of female leadership, the most notable aspects are Ana Botín (Santander) 2nd place, the best position of a woman in 22 years of measuring, and the entry of Marta Ortega (Inditex) in 26th place. By contrast, there is a decrease in the final number of women in the ranking (25 in 2022 compared to 27 in 2021).
