The revolution in the Linz catering scene continues! After it was announced that Haubenkoch Georg Vijn is pulling the plug at the end of the year, another farewell is now sealed: with Sigi and Philipp Stummer, a popular gastro pair is blocking his restaurant in the summer. A successor to the Rauner is being sought.
“We love nothing more than a few nice hours together with you in the Rauner,” writes Sigi and Philipp Stummer on the website of their restaurant, which has become something like the culinary living room for many in recent years. A place where good taste, kindness and warmth meet.
The Classic: Rauner-Cordon-Bleu
In the Makartviertel not far from the Bulgariaplatz and not far from the Lenau park, the two Mühlviertler opened the restaurant in 2016, which was named after the Mühlviertel-based term for the beets. The Rauner-Cordon-Bleu became the so-called characteristic disk and disappeared from the map when the end of the season was over.
Now, however, the wheels will soon end in this form. The gastro-purple announced on Wednesday evening that they were open as normal at the end of July before the company continues to run until mid-August at limited times. “Then we will close our gates to make room for something new in our lives,” said Sigi and Philipp Stummer.
Searching for successors has started
“With the Rauner we fulfilled the dream for life nine years ago to make our own restaurant from the vision to reality,” the two, who hope that the guests will stay loyal to the restaurant in the coming months. How the restaurant will continue afterwards is still open. People are good to find a successor. Interested parties can contact the two directly.
