Despite strong inflation – Amazon sees little change in shopping behavior

According to Rocco Bräuniger, head of Germany at Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer, the increased cost of living has had only a minor impact on shopping behaviour.

That has hardly changed until now, Bräuniger told the “Wirtschaftswoche”. “Instead of branded products, some people are now increasingly turning to low-cost alternatives.” But premium brands like Apple or game consoles like the Playstation 5 are still very popular, says Bräuniger. So far, things are going well. “In general, we do not register a drop in orders,” says Bräuniger.

Amazon continues to grow, even as the challenges grow. The 48-year-old is also confident about the upcoming Prime Day sales day on Tuesday. Special offers would be “well received, especially now that money is tighter for many people”. You can also shop at Amazon Germany from Austria.
