Significantly fewer travelers who wanted to go to the US – a response to President Donald Trump’s policy locates airlines and hotel operators when you look at the latest figures. Another country opens against lifting: India! Dozens of new airports are being built, airlines are made, Jets were ordered. With the FACC, a company from Upper Austria wants to benefit from this.
“They build 50 airports and have just ordered 1000 aircraft.” With Julian Jäger, for example, the board of Vienna Airport described in the autumn of 2023 the “Krone” that Boom is currently experiencing aviation in India. The most densely populated country in the world was prepared for departure. “India will open over the next ten or 20 years. Large airlines are currently being founded in the premium and cheap area,” confirms Robert Machtlinger, CEO of FACC.
Airbus, Boeing and Co. Explore opportunities on the site
The aircraft supplier of the Innviertel shows that aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus and Boeing are increasingly investigating the market in India because of the enormous order quantities – especially when it comes to production capacities. “It is checked which supply chains already exist and what can be made on the spot,” says Machtlinger.
And the Innviertler is already in the starting blocks. Because: FACC has been represented in India since 2010, has its own location in Pune, where around 130 employees are now active and which have grown enormously in the previous year. “We make a lot of development there, now also one or the other IT solution,” says the manager. Moreover, you also build on the connection with a production partner in Bangalore. “The partnership has been around for 15 years now and it is growing,” says Machtlinger.
The FACC feels well positioned for the magical formula “local for local”, which is becoming increasingly important due to costs, rates, rates, trade restrictions and the like. Machtlinger refers to the locations in Upper Austria, to the work in Croatia, but also to the branches in North -America, China and India: “We support our customers on the best possible road through our local locations.” The aircraft manufacturers are currently working on larger production packages, which can then be realized directly in India.
“No surprise”
“We have always considered where we make locations to be close to the customer and to be able to participate in the development of the world. It is now no surprise that the Asian-Pacific space is the growth motor in aviation,” says the CEO, whose contract was last expanded until 2030.
Good predictability for the next five or six years
42,430 new aircraft are needed until 2043 worldwide. This is also good for the FACC, the wing tips and produce motor covering and parts of the cabin equipment. According to their own information, the higher Austrians have a long -term order book with orders of $ 5.8 billion. You can “plan very well” for the next five or six years, says Machtlinger.
