250 employees work in the family business, which has broken up structures in recent years by saying goodbye to classical hierarchies. “This attracts employees who appreciate independent work,” says Schafferhofer, who speaks of a “great cultural change”.

The shortage of employees in combination with cost pressure and the struggle for competitiveness is to feed the demand for automation solutions.

The prejudices against robots are becoming more and more in the background. SCHMachtl stated in particular in particular: “Substillation such as the transport robot, which meows, if you scratch it behind the ear, is well received.”
