The “America First” course in the US is apparently not necessarily good for companies-state for export-oriented companies. According to a survey, a third of consumers in Germany dose more often with products from the US because of the policy of US President Donald Trump.
34.3 percent of the respondents stated that they were already using less corresponding goods and services, show a representative study by the Innofact seption Research Institute on behalf of the Verivox comparison portal. Another 17 percent want to limit their consumption.
Especially with smartphones, consumers are delivered – a third will or has already reconsider their retail behavior. About 30 percent of the respondents do not want to use American computer hardware and less often or no more social media services such as Instagram and X.
Events are not easy – for example with WhatsApp
But people cannot do anywhere without American products: slightly less than 17 percent of respondents can imagine an alternative at the Messenger WhatsApp.
Almost 30 percent of the survey participants in the meantime doubt whether a boycott of American goods is useful. 36.3 percent go one step further and believes that American services such as WhatsApp and Amazon are already so present that they are indispensable.
A total of 1015 people between the ages of 18 and 79 were interviewed online between April 30 and May 2, 2025. According to Verivox, the survey representatives in terms of age, gender and federal convictions are survey.
