Bacon and Worst – Handl Tyrol is known for this. A vegetarian line is now also part of the range. It is currently only a small part of the turnover, but that can change soon.
New times need new ideas. A Bacon emperor-and handl in Tyrol is also recognized in the vegetables biting. And the company does that with its own vegetarian line. According to the company, it currently only makes up for a relatively low share of sales in the reach of one distribution, but open new customer classes and opens opportunities for new markets. Business boss Karl Christian Handl mentions Dubai or India as examples.
Sales and costs have risen
The company presented the annual record 2024 on Thursday. Handl speaks of challenging times and mentions high energy and production costs as examples, but also increased wage costs. “We have to be careful not to praise ourselves,” said Handl.
The sharp increased costs would jeopardize good sales development. The turnover in the previous year was 213.2 million euros – an increase of 16.9 million euros compared to 2023.
Whether it is meat or pure vegetables – the company emphasizes the high -quality standards. To guarantee this, 120,000 checks were carried out in the previous year alone.
