It is not a somersault in terms of transformation, but the foot is absolutely taken by the accelerator: with the relaxation of CO₂ specifications for car manufacturers, the European Union takes the pressure from changing to e-mobility. E-vehicles still have to struggle with skepticism, but in the fight for climate protection they become an asset. Rosenbauer (Upper Austria) also trusts this.
The struggle for climate neutrality concerns intensive airports. With regard to the infrastructure, they therefore try to eliminate all the potential that will guarantee the reduction in the emissions of CO₂.
Linz Airport has also committed itself to CO₂ neutrality. “In addition to our photovoltaic systems, we have already purchased electric apron vehicles, an electric 15-toned high airplane for loading cargo aircraft and a solar flight staircase for the pandemic,” Norbert Draskovits, the director of the airport in Hörsching.
But: in the field of special vehicles, the conversion to electric vehicles for a small airport such as Linz, which has had a serious decrease in the number of passengers in recent years, is very difficult. Reason: “There are no used vehicles on the market yet.” The company station was therefore converted last year into fossil -free diesel fuel in Hörsching. “We are now operating our diesel vehicles with this new, climate -friendly fuel,” said Draskovits.
And how does the demand for electrified vehicles develop at Rosenbauer? “We have models with electric drive in every vehicle category,” Robert Ottel, CEO recently revealed during the annual general meeting at the Marriott Hotel in Linz.
“Innovation Cup of the company”
The new boss of the world’s leading fire brigade outfit of Leonding Lyrical about the performance data of the Panther Electric, the fire truck worked with electricity. “This is the innovation of the company,” Ottel emphasized, who also said, “Now it’s about investing in these vehicles. You know how hesitant that happened in the car industry needs a little patience, but I am optimistic: this will take place at the end of the day and I assume that the orders there will take place in the next few years.”
Rosenbauer is currently popular, had orders worth 2.343 billion euros in the books at the end of March. “We have been completely booked for a year and a half, one could easily say,” says the Rosenbauer -Baas. However, this is not a rest cushion: “Depending on the economic situation, there may also be cancellations.”
