Strong setback – Tesla – Sales in Europe has been halved

The demand for electric cars recovered in April and the European car market for the first time helped growth this year. But not everyone benefits from this. The American manufacturer Tesla, led by the controversial billionaire Elon Musk, continued to slide further than 50 percent.

The ACEA of the European Manufacturer Association announced on Tuesday that Tesla’s turnover in the European Union decreased to 5475 vehicles in April – a minus of 52.6 percent compared to April of the previous year.

41,677 electric cars would have been sold, manufacturers such as Renault, Volkswagen and BYD have caught up with Tesla.

More approved vehicles
A total of 1.3 percent more vehicles were re -registered in the European Union than before the year, as the ACEA Industry Association announced on Tuesday.

Significantly more buyers opted for a vehicle with an electric drive: the section has set up a good third to 145,341 vehicles.

Volkswagen Leading
The Volkswagen Group remains a leader among individual manufacturers, including brands such as Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi or Porsche: in April alone the company dropped nearly 260,000 cars in the EU, which is 2.9 percent more than in the previous year.

BMW has made an increase in turnover from almost ten percent to 66,661 cars, Mercedes sold 0.7 percent more cars with 46,415 vehicles than in the previous year. Stellantis with brands such as Opel, Peugeot and Fiat placed 1.1 percent fewer vehicles, Toyota registered a minus of 8.6 percent.
