Because specialists are increasingly becoming scarce, the Carintic Industrial Companies are breaking new roads. That is why students are now spoiled of your choice.
“The current situation in the Karintic industry is alarming,” warns Michael Velmeden, Division President at the Chamber of Commerce of Carinthia. “The costs of disadvantages in Austria are no longer portable, orders and production are demolished.” That is why the framework conditions must be adjusted, improved.
And one of the biggest challenges is the current shortage of trained employees. “We can only secure our need for qualified employees in the long term with a strong training foundation,” says Velmeden, who is also vice -president of the Industrial Association. Such a foundation is education – on www.inlehre. In total, 1,000 industrial teachers are in training. But the school leave certificate is also promoted. “We need a clear political dedication for double training,” emphasizes Velmeden.
But the competition in the fight for young talents is great. Currently 350 young Carinthians are looking for a apprenticeship, there are more than 500. The industry also tries to score with more money. With an average of 1631 euros gross, specialists of tomorrow earn more in Carinthia than in the rest of Austria.
A second starting point for industry is the development of competence, even before children achieve a learning age. “We are at a point where the policy of the educational and labor market together with the economy must create new solutions,” emphasizes IV director Claudia Mischsky. “. Only through targeted, practice -oriented educational and personnel strategies can the location be strengthened sustainably.” An important concern of IV Carinthia is therefore also the “modernization of educational content”. The Mint initiative in kindergarten and schools is particularly concerned.
