Great conversion – completely new outfit for Dornbirner Messepark

Date:

From 2026 the 40 -year -old Messepark store in Dornbirn will be converted and expanded into two phases during operation. Until the store stamp shines in a new shine, it will still last until 2030.

An extension of the Dornbirner Messepark has been discussed since 2007 and in 2024 there was finally the green light for the expansion. There is not much left of the old plans, the representative of the owner Guntram Drexel presented a completely new concept on Thursday, for which the architectural team of Baumschlager-Berle was responsible. The reason for the new planning is a Stadskanaal that takes place under the exhibition park of more than 50 years old. After an in -depth investigation, representatives of the city of Dornbirn decide in coordination with those responsible for the Messepark to move this channel. “This creates a coherent, large space for the underground parking space in the basement,” said Drexel.

More light, more space and fine gastro area
The originally planned second parking garage, which had to be built near the highway, is now from the table, instead of the vehicles disappear under the ground. From there, visitors can not only reach the new store stamp, but also the exhibition center. The bottom line is that the optimized traffic routering will promise a lighting of the roundabout of up to 15 percent.

But much will not only change when it comes to parking – the outfit of the exhibition park will also be completely different. “The re -designed facade is modernly structured to the city and the urban, to the west with a spectacular opening and a rated terrace,” said Drexel. Above all, visitors to gastronomy must feel comfortable there. Innovative concepts are planned to bring “new culinary worlds” to Vorarlberg.

The rooms are designed more spacious and brighter in the new store stamp. All levels are consistently connected, each floor can be reached from the underground parking space or from the existing parking garage with the lift. “This not only ensures high comfort among visitors, but also guarantees equivalent location quality for all commercial, service and catering partners,” promised the owner’s representative. The Fair Park is converted into two phases and when used. “The goal is to offer customers a pleasant environment, even during the construction phase,” Drexel emphasized.

The construction of the construction on the earliest 2026
Until the Messepark fans can shop, walk and party in the new temple, some water flows through the Dornbirner. The construction starts at the earliest at 2026 and the completion is expected in about four years. The construction costs are probably around 200 million euros. The representative of the owner Drexel sees this as a strong dedication to modern intramural trade.
