Again, the Chamber of Labor (AK) criticizes that food in Austria costs considerably more than our German neighbors.
Selected brand products in two online supermarkets in the two countries each amounted to 27 percent more compared to 70-identical products in Austria, according to AK on Monday. Without VAT, the products were therefore 23 percent more expensive.
59 of the 70 compared foods were more expensive in Austria than in Germany, six cheaper and five cost the same in both countries as the Chamber of Labor. For a product (Cremissimo ice cream) you have to burst more than double in Austria.
