Cheap food has become more expensive again compared to June 2024 – sometimes with 96 percent. You have to pay considerably more for coffee, orange juice, apples, butter, tomatoes and vinegar.
A shopping basket with 40 cheapest food and cleaning products cost the record price of almost 81 euros in June 2025. In the previous year it was 72.34 euros. That is an increase of almost twelve percent.
This is demonstrated by a current AK -Prize monitor with 40 cheapest lifestyle and some cleaning products in seven supermarkets and discounters in June.
Potatoes cheaper
Although twelve out of 40 products in June compared to 24 percent became cheaper (such as potatoes), 21 of the 40 products show drastic price increases up to 96.1 percent (especially bean coffee). Seven products remained at the same price level as in the previous year (such as flower, tomatoes, full milk and toothpaste).
In 2021 the purchase costs will cost almost 30 euros less
- Since the start of the wave of inflation in September 2021, prices have exploded. At that time, the shopping basket cost around 51 euros – now almost 81 euros. Except for liquid detergents, everything became more expensive.
- A few examples: Bean Coffee Plus 158 percent, orange juice plus 157 percent, penne -noodles plus 103 percent, wheat flower plus 88 percent, tomatoes plus 87 percent, apricot jam plus 75 percent, sunflower oil plus 56 percent, rice plus 54 percent, plus 64 percent.
