Vienna Energie has again published new prices for electricity and gas. This sometimes causes questions. Who benefits? We looked at it.
About 150 euros savings per annual Vienna advertises energy for the new electricity and guest rate “Optima Relaxed Plus”. The rate attracts with a cheaper consumption price: electricity costs around 9.9 cents per kilowatt hour, natural gas approximately 4.4 cents. However, the basic price increases to 4.82 euros per month for electricity and 6.76 euros for gas. Vienna energy speaks about a savings effect. How strong it actually is depends on the size of the household.
More savings for many consumers
A condition for a contract is a year. Vienna energy states that “not the comparison of individual price components, but the total annual costs are decisive”. According to its own representation “the company” adapted to the market “to meet the needs of the customer. Existing customers can also switch to existing tires – until 30 September.
Will Viennese “relax” with the annual statement?
Criticism of the pricing of the domestic providers comes from the federal competition authority and the e-check. E-control Baas Wolfgang Urbantsschitsch made it clear that the electricity prices of Austria are in the top third part in a European comparison, while wholesale prices were low. Both authorities criticize the high prices and profit that are a clear indication of insufficient competition.
