The most important fire at the manufacturer of the Salzburg machine tool EMCO in Hallein (Tennengau) a week and a half ago has received major effects than in the beginning. Since important production components are missing, negotiations will be made on short work from Friday about the trade union and about the trade union.
The fire that had broken out in the afternoon of July 1, has completely destroyed a warehouse. The next day, director Karl Pichler announced that the production could start again the next day because the production area itself was spared off the fire. It was now shown that the existing inventory of components is not sufficient and that the work must stand still for at least two months. In an employee meeting, the management and the owner informed the approximately 390 employees.
Emco wants to stand still as short as possible
“Due to the purchasing situation” the production will take place, said director Karl Pichler. A special inventory in the urgent procedure still had available and the part of the fire that was missing. It was shown that the production range was shorter than originally assumed. “Our goal is clear: we must keep the time in which we are as short as possible and produce as quickly as possible. We owe this to our employees and our customers,” says Pichler. According to the Union, the labor market service will be negotiated with short -age work on Friday.
