The prestigious economist Emilio Ontiveros (Ciudad Real, 1948) died this Monday at the age of 74 in Madrid. Bachelor and doctorate in economics, he was professor of business economics at the Autonomous University of Madrid, a center where he was also vice-rector in 1982.
In 1987 he founded Analistas Financieros Internacionales, a firm of which he was chairman until his death. Director of the Economists Magazine from its inception until December 2011, Ontiveros was a regular contributor to various media, especially specializing in economics and finance.
As the author of numerous articles and several books, he has served on the editorial boards of various scientific and professional publications.
