Magenta CEO Andreas Bierwirth will move to Erste Group on October 1. Together with CEO Willibald Cernko, he will initially manage the affairs of private customers, the major bank announced on Thursday. After an introduction phase of several months, Bierwirth will start working on the board.
The major bank from Vienna announced this in a broadcast on Thursday. Andreas Bierwirth started his career in 2002 with the establishment of Germanwings as a low-cost airline. After a stint as head of Lufthansa’s Miles & More program, he joined the AUA board of directors in 2008. For about ten years he was CEO of T-Mobile Austria, now Magenta Telekom.
Rodrigo Diehl will be his successor
Rodrigo Diehl will take over the main post at Magenta from October. The Argentinian with German roots has been responsible for the pan-European retail customer activities of the Deutsche Telekom Group since May 2021. Before that he worked for the Luxembourg telecom company Millicom.
