A current price comparison shows that you pay 19.30 euros per square meter in the Tyrolean capital. In Voitsberg in Styria it is only 7.20 euros! And the Viennese also live 4.60 euros cheaper than the inhabitants of Innsbruck.
The “Krone” has often reported that living in Tyrol is anything but cheap. Immowelt.at’s current rent check confirms this once again. The rents of apartments and houses in selected political districts across Austria that were advertised on the platform in the first half of 2021 and the first half of this year were analysed. “Only the offers that were in increasing demand were taken into account,” assure those responsible.
The result: in Innsbruck, tenants pay no less than 19.30 euros per square meter. The provincial capital of Tyrol thus occupies the first and most expensive place in Austria.
Innsbruckers pay 4.60 euros more than Viennese
Salzburg is far behind with 16.90 euros per square meter. In third place are Dornbirn im Ländle and Kitzbühel, the next Tyrolean district. In both, the tenants have to pay 15.70 euros. The west is generally an expensive place: nine of the ten most expensive districts are in Tyrol, Salzburg and Vorarlberg.
If you want to live cheaper, you have to flee east. The three cheapest of the 78 surveyed districts are in Styria. In Murtal and Voitsberg 7.20 euros is mandatory. By the way: in most European countries, the state capital is the most expensive. At 14.70 euros per square meter, living in Vienna is 4.60 euros cheaper than in Innsbruck.
