In Japan, a drunken police officer lost a bag of investigation files. The documents contain personal information such as the names and addresses of about 400 people, including information about a suspected criminal, Japanese police said Monday.
The officer said he lost the bag last Saturday night. According to Japanese media reports, the 49-year-old went out for drinks with colleagues in Southwestern Hyogo Prefecture and fell asleep when he went home with his bag. When the man awoke later, he could not find the bag.
A similar incident occurred in the Japanese city of Amagasaki in June. At that time, a businessman lost a bag containing a USB stick containing personal data of all 460,000 residents of the city. He had been drinking before and fell asleep on the way home. In this case, the stick was found a day after the disappearance became known.
