Diego Martín and thirteen other national artists will be touring his classrooms this year as part of a groundbreaking project
The CEIP La Arboleja (Murcia) kicked off the 2022-2023 school year this Thursday with a welcome to the students attended by the Murcian singer Diego Martín. During this course, the center will launch the ‘Exciting Music’ project, in which Diego Martín and 13 other national artists participate, in addition to the ‘Manuel Massotti Littel’ Conservatory of Music of Murcia, according to LA TRUTH Shaila Perán, director of the CEIP La Arboleja.
«This innovative project aims to use Spanish music (including classical, flamenco and root music) to promote national artists among schoolchildren on the one hand and to use the lyrics of the songs as instruments to express emotions in the classroom under the guidance of professional teachers specialized in topic,” emphasizes Perán. “Music as a kaleidoscope of emotions will allow schoolchildren to gradually acquire skills in managing their emotions, all supported by great artists and music professionals, who will make this much-needed process for minors more effective.”
For example, boys and girls enter the classroom with songs (banned from the traditional bell), music also plays in the break, they go to concerts by conservatory students, are visited by musicians who talk about their experience and career, or they study their classroom biographies, among other performances, “with a full immersion in music to help them get to know themselves while acquiring a broad music culture”.
‘Music exciting’ and CEIP La Arboleja raise the curtain on ‘an exciting track’ in which music will play the leading role in this innovative educational project.
