Date:

The artist from Las Torres de Cotillas will be one of the new candidates for the seventh edition of this famous cooking competition

Next Monday, September 12, one of the most watched programs on television returns, ‘Masterchef’. Like every September, a number of participants will face the challenges proposed by chefs Pepe Rodríguez, Samantha Vallejo-Nágera and Jordi Cruz. The contestants will be familiar faces this time around as it’s the seventh edition of ‘Masterchef Celebrity’.

Many of those who have passed through the kitchens have changed their lives as they have decided to leave everything behind to pursue a new dream related to the world of gastronomy. It’s an entertainment program, but the participants have to pass multiple tests that get more complicated by the week. The search is on for the best chef of this edition. ‘Masterchef’ has not only changed the lives of many unknown contestants who have become renowned chefs, but also some celebrities have entered this world after passing through the kitchens of the program.

From Monday, in the 1 you will see the candidates Ruth Lorenzo, Norma Duval, Patricia Conde, Pepe Barroso, Isabelle Junot, María Zurita, Fernando Andina, Manu Baqueiro, Nico Abad, Daniela Santiago, Xavier Deltell, María Escoté, Emmanuel Esparza, Lorena Castell and Eduardo Rosa in the kitchens of ‘MasterChef’.

The singer from Las Torres de Cotillas will be one of the new candidates who will spend this edition in the kitchens of the culinary program par excellence on Spanish television. The artist will have to face the challenges of the most demanding jury. Ruth Lorenzo, who rose to fame after participating in a British musical talent, returns to the small screen to take the classic cooking competition tests.

After singing with artists of the likes of Mariah Carey or Beyoncé and touring more than 200 concerts across Europe, he represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 with the song ‘Dancing in the rain’. That same year, he released his first album, ‘Planeta azul’, reaching number 1 on Itunes in Spain. This time, the singer is walking away from the stage and will put on her apron to take on the challenges of ‘Masterchef Celebrity’.

She has always cooked healthy meals, “but to feed myself, rarely to enjoy,” because of her hectic pace of life, the singer told RTVE. She loves food and traditional food, and she also assures her that her mother is a great cook and she really enjoys sharing moments in the kitchen with her. He likes rice and costra, a typical dish from Orihuela, and the gypsy pot, but he is also attracted to the avant-garde.

The effort of weeks in the kitchens of this tough competition is rewarded with a solidarity prize of 75,000 euros, which the winning candidate can give to the NGO of their choice, and the precious trophy ‘Masterchef Celebrity’. In addition, the finalists will receive a weekend-long creative cooking class at the Basque Culinary Center in San Sebastián. All applicants can contribute their grain of sand to charity as in all programs, the best in one of the tests win money that they can donate to the NGO of their choice.
