The Wheel of Books focuses on female writers

The cultural entity has planned meetings with, among others, Almudena Sánchez, Nuria Barrios, Valeria Alonso and Lola López Mondéjar

Renowned writers, including some winners of major literary awards, will meet during the Murcia Book Fair in booth number 13 of the exhibitor La Rueda de los Libros, a cultural entity that owns the publishing houses MurciaLibro and La Rosa de Papel.

Founded by Francisco Serrano, La Rueda de los Libros offers a program that includes, in addition to the usual book signings, several presentations and lectures in various locations, such as the Archaeological Museum or the University of Murcia.

Today, Thursday, from 7.30 pm, Lola López Mondéjar will be signing copies of ‘Invulnerables and invertebrates’. The next day, at 12:30 pm, the Madrid writer Nuria Barrios will sign ‘La impostora’, the 13th José María González Ruiz Malaga Essay Prize.

On the afternoon of the same Friday, both Lola López Mondéjar and Nuria Barrios will participate in a joint presentation of their books, in the Archaeological Museum, from 6:00 pm, and will talk with the journalist and writer Lydia Martín and with the translator Aurora cheek. An act in a feminine key presented by Mariángeles Ibernón.

On Saturday September 8, Manuel Moyano will sign on the stand and in the afternoon it will be the turn of the Argentinian Valeria Alonso. The actress and writer has won the Ateneo Ciudad de Valladolid Prize for her novel ‘The heroines are afraid too’. The final round of signings in the afternoon corresponds to Almudena Sánchez and Andrés García Cerdán, who will dedicate their most recent titles to the group: ‘Fármaco’ and ‘Grunge’.

On Sunday 9 from 5.30 pm the philologist and professor from Alicante, Olivia Martínez Giménez de León, will sign copies of her new collection of poems, ‘The Years of Hunger’, edited by Candaya.

In addition Miguel Sánchez Robles (19th, 19:30), Antonio Parra Pujante (9th, 12:30), Dionisia García (10th, 12:30), Marisa López Soria (12th, 12:30), Ginés Aniorte (12th, 19h30) or José María Álvarez (10th, 17h30), who will also present his work ‘Non je ne regrette rien’, at 19h30, in the Chamber of the Faculty of Arts and in collaboration with the UMU Poetry Class. The list of writers is completed with Ginés Cruz, Cristina Soler, Miguel Ángel Berlín, Lola Gutiérrez, Emilio Tomás and María Leyva.

Forty-five authors will sign their works on the El Corte Inglés stand at the Murcia Book Fair. Among them are writers from the region such as Lola Gutiérrez from Cartagena, the Vice-Rector of the University of Murcia, José Manuel López Nicolás, Paco López Mengual from Molin, the painter Guillermina Sánchez Oró and poets such as José Ángel Castillo or Mariángeles Ibernón. In addition, the fair’s youngest writer, Daniela Gómez Serrano, will be present. At just nine years old, he presents his book ‘The Ghost Cemetery’. Likewise, in the list of national authors, El Corte Inglés will include the presence of the chef Javier Romero or the writer Paola Boutelier.
