David Galindo Martínez from Cartagena is one of the ten finalists for the Planeta Prize 2022. Therefore, Galindo can take the baton from another writer in the region, Lorca Agustín Martínez, one of the components of Carmen Mola who won last year.
The other finalists are ‘El avionazo, una historia de Frida y Marilyn’, by José Manuel Mata Muñoz; ‘Feathers and sand’, by Álex Oneida (pseudonym); ‘The Castle’s Nila of Blossoming Almond Trees’, by Fernando Preto Rodríguez; ‘Magdalena, the gaze of the heart’, by Ho Hanan (pseudonym), and ‘My wife’s lover’, by Gabriela Hausmann (pseudonym).
Also finalists are ‘More Than Seven Thousand Kilometers’, by Alma Browncross (pseudonym); ‘The City of Illusions’, by Manuel Millán Sánchez; ‘River Above’, by Hoja de Fresno (pseudonym); ‘The Fuehrer’s weaknesses. History of a Breed: German Shepherds’, by Iñaki Carrera (pseudonym).
The jury consists of José Manuel Blecua, Fernando Delgado, Juan Eslava Galán, Pere Gimferrer, Carmen Posadas, Rosa Regàs and Belén López, voice secretary. The celebration of the LXXI Planeta Prize will take place this Saturday October 15 in Barcelona during a literary dinner at the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC).
