Freeman enters several prisons to investigate first-hand how the criminals could escape, with a plan in which all the details were studied step by step and then became legends for the rest of the inmates. ‘Historic Escapes’ goes further, incorporating maps of real escape routes into the production, as well as recreations of persecutions or the testimonies of cellmates and prison guards.

The new series features CGI sequences with Unreal Egine technology, which can give historical images more realism thanks to the real-time 3D system. This provides the viewer with a more immersive and real experience.
