The aim of this project is to appreciate the historical, cultural and landscape heritage of the Mediterranean coast related to the palm groves
The artist Elena Lorente and the photographer Ana Lozano present the exhibition PALM-ERA SE UNCE ONCE this Thursday, November 17 at 1 p.m. in the room of the Library of the Campus of the Miguel Hernández de Orihuela University.
It is an innovative and multidisciplinary artistic project of sculpture, photography, video and dance, in which numerous artists have collaborated, with the aim of appreciating the historical, cultural and landscape heritage of the Mediterranean coast linked to the palm groves.
For the creators, palm trees are “a sign of identity of our Levantine territory and metaphorically as representatives of Mother Nature, they are the inspiration and vehicle for a series of original and curious masks, made with this fascinating plant species, offering the viewer a reflection on the deeply rooted relationship of man with his natural environment».
The exhibition recreates a forest of disturbing masked characters collected through a series of large-format photos that alternate with the exposed masks themselves and the video projection of Joaquín Ros, a very wild universe that is complemented by the activation of these masks with an evocative presentation by the dancers Cristina Mayoral and Guillermo Arenas.
This exhibition can be visited until Thursday 22 December from Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 8.30 pm.
