The new edition of the Cumbre Flamenca de Murcia, which will be held from February 8 to 25, will feature a great performance by guitarist Vicente Amigo. The event, featuring song, dance, photography, literature and fashion, is led by flamencologist and journalist Antonio Parra. The Ministry of the Presidency, Tourism, Culture, Youth, Sports and Spokesman, through the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts of the Region of Murcia (ICA), is funding the Flamenco Summit of Murcia with 15,000 euros.

In the presentation of the event this Tuesday, the general director of the ICA, Manuel Cebrián, pointed out the importance of the regional government’s sponsorship of cultural events, which already exceeds 330,000 euros, with an increase of 10 percent compared to the past movement, reaching more than 30 calls from various artistic disciplines, including theater in theaters and on the street, circus, dance, music and folklore. “The aim of these aids is to strengthen culture throughout the region and they are not limited to the temporal scope, but rather contribute to promoting the development and improving the situation of the cultural industries as a whole,” declared Manuel Cebrian.

The Víctor Villegas Regional Auditorium will be one of the venues for Murcia’s Flamenco Summit and will host the performance of the Lo Ferro Ballet on February 24, with its ‘Picassianas’ show, choreographed by Javier Latorre, on the fiftieth anniversary of the death of the Spanish artist. The show also has the appeal of Joaquín Grilo, the great bailaor from Jerez joining as a guest artist.
