BBC Stand Up For Live Comedy will be filming in Belfast tonight with Paddy Raff and Shane Todd –

New six-part series, featuring BBC: Stand Up For Live Comedy And the Filming will take place in Belfast this evening, Wednesday 9 September.

The series, called ‘Live Stand-Up Comedy Again’, will travel to six different cities in the UK to showcase local talent before airing on BBC Three and BBC One.

Each show features a local comedian as a presenter, along with three other cartoons.

Episode two was taped in Belfast on Wednesday at CARGO Vertigo, located in the Titanic Quarter.

Presented by Paddy Raffy, current Funny Woman finalist Mary O’Connell, “All Killa No Filla” podcast star Rachel Fairborn and local cartoonist Shane Todd. Belfast tickets sold out.

The news comes at a time when Northern Irish comedians are beginning to take their first steps toward live shows, following the lockdown.

Paddy Raffi, the new BBC pilot for The Paddy Raffi Show, will be on stage for the ‘Paddy and Nigel Tour’ in November, followed by a fantastic show at the SSE Arena early next year.

Elsewhere, comedians like Shane Todd and Colin Gaddis have performed at Limelight as part of the “Pizza & Friends” events.

Speaking on Stand Up for Live Comedy, BBC Comedy Controller Shane Allen said: “It’s been the toughest time for live comedy and we can finally be the first broadcaster to bring viewers and comedians together in the same space. Nothing beats the magic of ordinary laughter.
