Yannick, the Murcian contender for Masterchef, continues for another week at the cooking show par excellence. The evening started with a special award couples test, the winning couple would receive a three-month internship contract at Masterchef restaurant and their dish would be on the menu of the season. In this first test, ‘las retales’, a few very dear ones also took part in the program. Bibiana Fernández and Anabel Alonso returned to the Masterchef kitchens to undergo the first test of the evening. The prize was more than juicy, but Yannick and Claudia, his partner in this test, did not quite understand each other and the winning couple was formed by Adrián and Vero.
For the outdoor test, the candidates traveled to the heart of Valencia, enjoying the smell of gunpowder and the sound of the ‘mascletá’ of a city celebrating its major festival, Las Fallas. The test started with surprise and the judges punished two contestants, David and Jokin, for cheating in the previous test. David and Jokin put on the black aprons before the cooking started, but promised they would give everything, even if they went to the elimination test anyway. While cooking in Valencia, many kisses were seen between the new couple of the edition formed by Jokin and Eva.
The winning team was formed by Teresa, Patri, Julia, María Lo and Claudia, and led by Adrián. So the rest of the contestants, including Yannick from Murcia, should go to the elimination. But as always, this program is known for its script changes, at the last minute the judges granted the reprieve and the winners would choose the candidate from the losing team that lost the elimination test.
The one chosen to get off this elimination test was Yannick. The Belgian was able to be saved from the stove again thanks to his teammates. When the jury asked him about the decision his companions had made, the Murcian emphasized the good relationship that exists between him and the “Spice Girls” of the program, as they are called María, Teresa, Patricia and Claudia. Yannick, who arrived in the region when he was only 12 years old, went to the gallery with the rest of his rescued companions. In addition, the winners of this test were given a ‘masterclass’ by chef Vicente Patiño.
The former participant of the fifth edition of Masterchef Miri Pérez visited the elimination test and advised the candidates on the importance of sustainability in food. Miri defended that “healthy food can be pleasant, sweet and sexy”. “The first step to eating healthy is to buy local produce, every step you take should benefit the planet,” added the former participant. The elimination test ended with Eva’s removal, who bid her farewell and promised to wait outside the kitchens for Jokin.
