Gabriel Lauret and Diego Sanz, violins; Pedro Sanz, viola; and Enrique Vidal, cello, perform 25 years in Murcia again
After two years of forced hiatus, the prestigious Saravasti Quartet (formed by Gabriel Lauret and Diego Sanz, violins; Pedro Sanz, viola; and Enrique Vidal, cello) returns to perform in Murcia in the year that celebrates 25 years together. It will be at 8:00 PM this Saturday at the Church of Jesus of the Salzillo Museum (in Plaza de San Agustín), with free entry to full capacity.
The statues of the steps of the master Salzillo will embrace the Saravasti with quartets of the geniuses Haydn and Mozart, according to the Murcia formation. A magical artistic fusion that is also part of the events of the Night of the Museums and as a conclusion to the 80th anniversary of the Salzillo Museum.
In these 25 years, since 1997, Saravasti has performed in New York, Tokyo, Paris, Lisbon and Tunisia, but also throughout the country, such as in Madrid (Sala de las Meninas del Museo del Prado or Fundación Juan March), Valencia ( Palau de la Música), Barcelona, Seville, Granada, Córdoba, Málaga, Zaragoza, Valladolid, Alicante, Vigo, Lugo, Pamplona, Vitoria, Murcia and Cartagena.
Saravasti celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2017 with a series of concerts at the Víctor Villegas Regional Auditorium, of which it is a house quartet, where his interpretation of Arnold Schoenberg’s Concerto for Quartet and Orchestra, together with the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia (OSRM) stood out directed by the owner, Virginia Martínez from Molin.
The critics have not praised the Murcian musicians. “They have a high technique and a musical feeling of the first order… They excited the audience who packed the hall and offered us a Haydn and a Mozart as good as that of a foreign bell quartet,” said Tomás Marco in ‘El Mundo’. Saravasti was trained by members of some of the best string quartets of our time, such as the Tokyo, Borodin, Kopelman and Enesco Quartets. He has released three albums, as well as numerous premieres by Spanish composers and recordings for radio and television.
