‘El Hormiguero’, on the brink of tragedy: ‘We scared ourselves’

Date:

An accident in a specialist off-set test caused a huge scare and the live action of the firefighters who came to the rescue

“His foot is hooked!” exclaimed Pablo Motos, warning the staff. It happened in one of the titanic performances that the experts perform outside of ‘El Hormiguero’. On this occasion, two action film specialists simulated a fight on top of a building constructed for the occasion. They fell through a window and bounced off awnings, as everything around them exploded. One of them, engulfed in flames, became entangled in one of the floors and became trapped. At first it looked like this was part of the game, but no. The fire brigade had to act immediately and direct hoses at the man to extinguish the fire. “Keep burning, keep burning,” Motos and his company warned from below.

Everything was a shock. The specialist gestured with his hand to indicate that he was okay and when he got off they let go of his foot and he fell. “My goodness, what a fright!” Marron confessed, visibly shaken. “All well, all well”, assured those affected already on land. “You burned a lot,” Motos explained, still scared. “What a fright, God!” they all said.

“Your whole foot has gone into the hole and you have become addicted,” the presenter described to the specialist, who apologized for the failure. “Well, I’m sorry,” he apologized. Motos took the iron from the shop and told him not to worry. “The scene has changed from fiction to really frightened us,” the communicator assured, congratulating the firefighters for acting so quickly.

“Those of us who saw the rehearsal knew this didn’t have to happen, so the concern was maximum. There was a dead silence here,” said Nuria Roca, who witnessed the event from the set. “If you look at it from the positive side, it’s true that it went wrong, but also very good because it has been really spectacular And most of all, I’m amazed at his cold blood. She said, well, then wait for them to turn me off,” said her husband, Juan del Val. Motos explained that the expert was wearing a fireproof suit, “but they can’t breathe. while it’s on fire, all the action is done in apnea,” he reported. So while the fire service rescued him, he quietly waited with bated breath. “We were left in stone,” the employees said still shocked. And it was Juan del Val who settled the matter with fine irony: “As my mother would say, very little happens,” he concluded.
