This support of 400 euros from the ministry can be requested until October 15 via the website bonoculturaljoven.gob.es
The new 400 euro cultural bonus for young Spaniards who will turn 18 in 2022 can be requested from yesterday on the website bonoculturajoven.gob.es. The deadline to apply for this type of prepaid card ends on October 15. However, before registering on the website, you must obtain a digital certificate or be registered in the Cl@ve system to verify the applicant’s age and prevent fraud. Minister of Culture, Miquel Iceta, announced yesterday during the presentation of this initiative at the Museum of Fine Arts in Valencia that the voucher will be available in the form of a physical or digital card via mobile phone.
Although the bonus is 400 euros, it cannot be spent in just one sector, but is divided into sections. In addition, it can only be used in companies and entities associated with it. The premium is divided as follows: 200 euros for live arts, cultural heritage and audiovisual arts. Tickets and subscriptions for performing arts, live music, cinema, museums, libraries, exhibitions and scenic, literary, musical or audiovisual festivals would come in here. The next 100 euros are for cultural products in physical form such as books, magazines, newspapers, other magazines, video games, sheet music, records, CDs, DVDs or Blu-rays.
As for the last 100 euros, they are intended for digital or online consumption (subscriptions and rental of musical, reading or audio reading, or audiovisual platforms, purchase of audio books, purchase of digital books (e-books), subscription for downloading of multimedia files (podcasts), subscriptions to online video games, digital subscriptions to newspapers, magazines or other magazines.
In addition to helping young people access culture, the bonus aims to revitalize sectors hard hit by the pandemic. “It is time for society to thank the makers. We believe in you, we are going to defend your rights and bring more and more people closer to culture,” said the minister, who also urged young people to take advantage of this opportunity. “Be embraced by culture.”
