New transport hub named after Greater Belfast Central Station

Translink has revealed that Belfast’s new transport hub will be renamed Greater Belfast Central Station.

This comes after work began on an executive major project for Northern Ireland to provide an integrated multimodal transport hub that will be the main gateway to Belfast and Northern Ireland.

The new hub will replace existing Europe and Greater Victoria with road bus and train stations.

It offers greater capacity for up to 26 bus stops, with the addition of eight railway tracks, as well as improved pedestrian and cycling connections.

Weavers Cross planned for the project will rehabilitate the land surrounding the transportation hub and contribute to economic growth and urban renewal.

Chris Conway, CEO of Translink Group, said, “The new terminal is a very important step forward in providing a world-class customer experience.

It will be the largest integrated transportation facility on the island of Ireland, showcasing extensive innovation and design.

“We are delighted to work with the public to present the aptly named ‘Belfast Grand Central Station’ which is a true landmark of the city.

The new name is celebrated with public participation at Bus Hub Europe through the innovative and dynamic History Council “It Grand”, which will be an integral part of Belfast Central Station’s Art and Heritage strategy, “Everything Connected”.

Creatively, Translink uses a local expression that is often used. that is great for the general public To encourage people to share their “great” ideas and experiences.
