After the bribery of Viktor Orbán at the last EU summit – his omission of a threatened veto was softened by ten billion euros – the next Csárdás dance is planned in Brussels: Orbán vetoed the release of 50 billion in Ukrainian support for the period 2024 to 2027. Does he want to use this to extract further commitments? The EU officials have found a way out: the Commission must be authorized by the EU states to borrow 20 billion euros – without unanimity.
