Why shouldn’t the middle class be relieved?

Date:

There is a feeling that even with the aid package, the government could only do everything wrong. Critics’ accusation that the middle class is also benefiting from some of the relief, however, is highly unjustified. After all, why shouldn’t the middle class also be relieved in times of crisis? They feel the price going up, just like everyone else!

It’s a bit absurd. No sooner had the turquoise-green federal government presented its aid package than the first dire predictions came. The accusation that it would be “antisocial” that the middle class would also benefit from the measures – only the “poorest of the poor” should be relieved. But why actually?

Small and medium-sized enterprises also suffer from inflation
After all, even the average medium-sized company has to keep an eye on the stock market in times like these and possibly tighten their belts – they feel the price rise just as strongly! The myth that medium-sized companies can easily afford high energy, gas and petrol prices is simply not true. And even more: with their purchasing power they make an important contribution to our economic growth. Relieving this burden is therefore also important for all our economies!

Tax money doesn’t grow on trees
In addition, the middle class pays a large part of the deduction through its tax payments, from which the lowest incomes now also benefit. He does his part anyway. So making sure he keeps making ends meet and consuming properly should be just as important to us as supporting the poor. Tax money doesn’t grow on trees!

Envy is a bad first reflex
Of course, people with low incomes, single parents and the unemployed need much more help to absorb inflation. Helping the poorest is important and rightly so. gift. That some people now tend to envy the middle class for every cent they get is just an uneasy first reflex. And resentment is a bad feeling.

This realization is bitter, but it is the reality
Unfortunately, the fact is that there will always be one section of society that has something more than another. Trying to equalize everything and everyone is certainly a noble approach, but in the long run, our society will not support it. There will always be a certain imbalance. This realization is bitter, but unfortunately that is the reality.
