The Constitutional Court announced yesterday that the online broadcast of the ORF program may no longer be free in the future. At the moment, consumers who do not have radio or TV do not have to pay anything under the broadcasting license and the ORF Act. So if you listen to the radio on the internet or stream a program, you can get away with it for free. By the end of 2023, it must now be decided what the new scheme will look like in this respect. One idea would be to abolish the GIS rate, in exchange for a lower rate per household. How do you feel about this? Are you currently paying GIS fees? Feel free to join the discussion in the comment section!
