An accidental fire in Co Tyrone’s apartment leads to the discovery of a suspected drug operation and the arrest of a man.
Today, on the morning of April 5, an ambulance was called to the scene of the fire in the apartment located on the main street of Straban.
No one was injured in the fire, which broke out around 12:40 p.m., although smoke and fire engulfed the building.

While putting out the fire, ambulance services discovered what police described as a “small but complex” drug operation.
“Fortunately, the fire did not spread to the other apartments and did not cause any damage,” Chief Inspector Clive Petty said. “Before the ambulance arrived at the site, a small but complex drug operation was found at a nearby property.
