Dominik Wlazny – alias Marco Pogo – also presented his posters for the federal presidential elections on Friday. All nine triangular stands were displayed in front of the Museumsquartier in Vienna. Please note: this does not concern the number of motifs, but that of the stands in total. According to the founder of the beer festival, nothing more will be added.
According to Wlazny, these are stands given to the party during the 2020 Vienna election campaign. Originally there were a few more, but some were “flakes,” as the candidate reported. The objects are set up on Mariahilfer Strasse in Vienna.
Decide on topics that matter to him
“I’ve noticed that the whole country is littered with meaningless subjects at election time,” Wlazny said. He thinks there is another way. That is why he has chosen subjects that are important to him.
The design of the 27 posters for the nine triangular stands was therefore quite text-heavy, with only one panel dominated by the applicant’s likeness. This poster also features a beer mug. Otherwise there is no reference to the drink anywhere. Wlazny is advertised with the slogan “May President”.
Posters show what he wants to talk about
The campaign motto is “Red’ ma über über it”. In line with the slogan, Dominik Wlazny explained on the posters what he would like to talk about. “350.000 children in Austria are at risk of poverty”, it says, for example. It is also pointed out that the average pension is not far from the at-risk-of-poverty threshold.
Violence against women, whose average income is lower (“women work for free every 8 years”) or animal welfare issues are also discussed. A topic is also formulated as a question: “Why are there 1,245 ski lifts in Tyrol, but not a single wind turbine?” But that shouldn’t be taken as Tyrol bashing, he assured: “There aren’t any in Vorarlberg or Salzburg either.”
Save one oath or the other
An “aptitude test” is also required for pastors. According to Wlazny, he has the impression that membership of the farmers’ association is often sufficient for the office. If there were such a test, one might salvage one promise or another, he suspected.
