Filzmaier analyzes – interventions: what the state can (cannot) do

Date:

Politicians have the task of regulating all our coexistence. Without laws, regulations and contracts we would live in chaos as a community. The “state” – also known as the federated states and as a state entity the EU – therefore intervenes en masse, both in the economy and in our private lives.

1. The state interventions range from the corona measures to tax legislation with the fight against cold progression like insidious money loss to socio-political protection and help against inflation and energy shortages. There are also national and international contracts. Because, for example, taxing the excess profits of energy companies or whatever for lowering electricity and gas prices hardly works if you do it in the rather impotent small state of Austria instead of within the framework of the EU.
