“Immigration kills” – a photo published on Facebook with these words after the tragic murder of 13-year-old Leonie in Vienna could now have legal consequences for Styrian FPÖ federal councilor Markus Leinfellner. The prosecutor locates sedition. Will Parliament extradite Leinfellner?
The Facebook posting for Liberal Federal Councilor Markus Leinfellner could have legal ramifications. After the shocking murder of 13-year-old Leonie last year, he posted a photo entitled ‘Immigration kills’.
After a complaint, the public prosecutor in Graz accuses Western Styria of hate speech and asks for his extradition. On October 4, the Constitutional Commission will decide whether the parliamentary immunity will be lifted.
“It is unacceptable that parliamentarians are intimidated with anonymous criminal charges when they tackle the problem of foreign crime in an admittedly exaggerated form,” FPÖ party secretary Stefan Hermann said angrily.
