Stocker is a lawyer at his own law firm in Wiener Neustadt, where he has been Deputy Mayor for 22 years and has also been a member of the National Council since 2019. He is considered hardy and loyal to the line by the U-committee. Stocker is a member of the ÖVP Corruption Investigation Commission and the Judiciary Commission.
According to information from “Krone”, he will be announced on Friday as the successor to Sachslehner. Stocker confirmed talks with Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) to the Lower Austrian News next week. It has not yet been decided whether he can remain vice mayor of Wiener Neustadt as secretary general.
