97.8% approval – Svazek remains head of the Salzburg Freedom Party

Date:

Marlene Svazek remains the leader of the Salzburg FPÖ. At the 32nd state party conference in Seekirchen, delegates elected the 30-year-old as leader of the state party with 97.8 percent. In her speech, Svazek launched a sweeping attack, especially regarding the state elections.

The term of office in the highest office of the State Party is three years. The party was taken over in 2016 by the chairman of the blue state parliament club. The woman from Flachgau stood for the third time on Saturday for the elections. In 2019, she won 95.63 percent of the vote. In 2019 that was 93.46 percent. Svazek was chosen as the top candidate for the state elections two weeks ago.

Svazek went for a beautiful shot and aimed for 1st place
In her speech, Svazek launched a sweeping attack, accusing her competitors of worrying only about their own future. Moreover, until now there has been a policy of tactics and governance, against which it now competes and stands up. Svazek’s assessment of the situation revolved around social issues, immigration, corona measures and inflation.

Of course, Svazek has focused in particular on the ÖVP and the Greens, who have ruled together in Salzburg for almost a decade. “The Greens prefer to take care of frogs and the weather, while the old people neglect it,” it said, for example, of the Salzburg health care scandal. The state government, made up of the ÖVP, Greens and NEOS, has lost contact with the people and must now be billed for this. As a target for the state elections, Svazek was clearly in first place. “We are fighting for the lead in this country,” Svazek emphasized. She herself would believe in the change and is also committed to “the people out there”.

Kickl proud of Svazek, Rosencrantz hopes to be sworn in
FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl praised Svazek, who testified to the politician’s exceptional analytical acuity and predicted a strong result in advance. Presidential candidate Walter Rosenkranz hoped: “If everything goes perfectly, I can swear Marlene Svazek as state governor in the Hofburg.”

There were also many words of praise and emphasized the unity of the blue district heads. “Not only are we different from the others, we are better too. Marlene Svazek is not only better than the others, she is the best,” said Andreas Schöppl, chairman of the Salzburg City Party, referring to the current poster campaign of the Salzburg FPÖ.

Svazek’s deputies in the party leadership will also be re-elected on Saturday. Hermann Stöllner left as deputy chairman of the state party. The first deputy is the mayor of Radstadt, Christian Pewny. They are followed by Andreas Teufl, Member of Parliament, City President Dominic Maier and Federal Councilor Marlies Steiner Wieser. The district election lists for the state elections are drawn up in October and November.
