The president of JxCat has been highly critical of ERC and Aragonès. “We have tried to live up to the agreement and we have been consistently rejected. ERC may have other agreements, with the PSOE and with Junts, and prioritize one over the other,” he said.

The Chairman of Together for Catalonia (JxCat), Laura Borrasbelieves that the government chaired by Pere Aragonès “is no longer a coalition government, it is a government of clashand believes that he is unwilling to go further in the goal of completing independence.

In an interview on TV3, he also defined the Catalan government as “fraudulent” because in his view it does not serve what is enshrined in the legislative agreement with ERC.

“We have tried to fulfill the agreement and we have found a constant refusal. ERC may have other agreements, with the PSOE and with Junts, prioritizing some over others. And he ignores those who have allowed Aragonès to preside over the Generalitat,” he insisted.

For this reason, he points out that the person responsible for a possible break-up of the government is “the one who does not want to honor an agreement”, and believes that this will affect Catalonia as a whole.

According to Borràs, of the 74 deputies who authorized the inauguration of Aragonès -ERC, JxCat and CUP-, there are now only 33 Republicans: “This government was born as a government of 74, and at the moment it is a government of 33“.

Regarding the consultations they will be having among their affiliates about continuity in government, Borràs has declined to reveal his position, but has said that his vote is “clear” and that he will let the affiliates know, in the same way that will be done by the general secretary of JxCat, Jordi Turull.
