There is already a Spanish representative for Junior Eurovision 2022. His name is Carlos Higes, he is Valencian and he is 11 years old. Singer, actor and model, he has participated in several television talent shows, receives vocal and piano training and confirms that he fell in love with Eurovision when he was only 4 years old. “I didn’t believe it. I pinched myself to see if it was real. I’m in a bubble,” he said after learning that he will perform in Yerevan (Armenia) on December 11.

To a versatile voice with a wide register, very good intonation and a voice color that is preserved in all registers, Carlos Higes adds a stage presence that radiates innocence and naturalness. A cheerful, cheerful and hardworking boy who is a fan of Justin Bieber, Sebastián Yatra and the Eurovisionists Chanel and Blas Cantó.

A good student, he likes languages ​​and his favorite subjects are Natural Sciences, Language and French. After school, where he is in group 6, he plays futsal and continues his artistic training with singing and piano lessons. She has participated in several television talent shows (“Idol Kids” and “The Voice”), and has also made her entry into the world of fashion and acting.

A total of 95 children filled out the casting form that RTVE opened for the first time in its history at the junior festival to choose the young Spaniard who would represent Spain at Junior Eurovision 2022. After an initial selection of 30 selected, the Prado del Rey studios were hosted the last casting in which 10 children participated.

A hard-fought casting in which all children have covered two songs. In the case of Carlos Higes, ‘Eco’, by Xeinn, and ‘Tacones rojo’, by Sebastián Yatra.

After the election of Carlos, RTVE is immersed in the process of selecting the most suitable number. So far, Radiotelevisión Española has received a total of 247 songs to compete in Armenia. During this month of October, the song and video clip of the chosen theme for the festival will be recorded and delivered to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) before November 4.

The 20th edition of the children’s competition will take place on Sunday 11 December from 4 pm in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. It will be at the Karen Demirchyan venue, an indoor stadium on Tsitsernakaberd Mountain, opened in 1893 to host major concerts and sports competitions.

Sixteen countries take part in Junior Eurovision 222 with this year’s motto ‘Turn the magic’: Albania, France, Georgia, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malta, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Spain, United Kingdom, Ukraine and Armenia, the hostess.
