Three voting points will be set up, one at each PSE-EE headquarters in San Sebastian: on Calle Prim (Enrique Casas group), in Intxaurrondo (Margarita Nelken group) and in the Altza district (Luis Arbella group). Polling stations open at 10 a.m. and members can vote until 8 p.m. The two candidates will do so at the headquarters on Prim Street.

Since announcing their candidacy, both have held meetings with militants as part of their information campaigns. In a letter sent to the secretaries-general of the San Sebastián groups and to the militants at the end of August, Elorza announced his decision to run for mayor again, a position he held for 20 years. In all his speeches, he has made sure that the city “needs a leadership that is not swayed by the interests of economic powers or neighbors with partial views”.

Elorza is committed to a ‘democratic local government’ that studies ‘public welfare policies’, seeking cooperation and collaboration with other governments. “San Sebastián needs a local government that makes decisions to move forward with public policies and coordinated actions with social and economic actors to coexist in an area that is socially inclusive, generates employment, wealth and creativity and diversity respects,” he said. candidate.

Garmindia: “I don’t do vintage politics”

For his part, Garmendia, the current number one socialist in the San Sebastián City Council and Deputy Mayor, has assured that he respects the right of every colleague to appear, although he believes that “it is time to step up the leadership of the PSE – to renew”.
