The Official Gazette (BOE) today published the royal decree providing for the “by resignation” of Carlos Lesmes as chairman of the General Council of the Judiciary and the Supreme Court.
The Royal Decree of 11 October starts at 00:00 the day after publication, thursday 13 octoberaccording to legal sources.
Carlos Lesmes formalized his resignation as president of the CGPJ and Supreme Court on Monday after announcing it on Sunday over the lack of progress in negotiations between PSOE and PP to renew the CGPJ.
Lesmes had already announced this Tuesday that he would not attend the October 12 events, despite the fact that his resignation had not yet been published in the BOE, which happened this Wednesday.
