Reactions to Barrionuevo’s statements about the dirty war

José Barrionuevo, sentenced to 10 years in prison for the kidnapping of Segundo Marey by the GAL, has admitted that ‘El País’ practiced the dirty war. As soon as the news was announced, the reactions of political personalities and victim associations followed one another.

Inaki Garcia Arrizabalagason of Juan Manuel García Cordero, kidnapped and murdered in San Sebastián in 1980 by the Autonomous Anti-Capitalist Commands, has recalled that “to read that the murder of a relative of yours was justified is devastating”, and has called for “truth, justice , recovery and remembrance of the victims of the GAL”.
