Euskaraz irakurri: Maria Chivitek “batasuna” and “funtsezkoa denari buruzko adostasuna”
The President of the Government of Navarre, Maria Chivite, has appealed to “unity of essence” and to achieve “consensus on the essence” in the debate on the state of the community. “As President of Navarre, I declare and claim unity, unity in our certainties as a community, unity in what is essential. From this debate I expect consensus on great ideas, consensus on what is essential,” she said.
The plenary session of the Parliament of Navarre has started with the intervention of the President of Navarre. First of all, he would like to thank Parliament and all Navarrese institutions “for these years in which, despite the enormous difficulties, we have made significant progress in the field of public services and rights”.
Chivite has emphasized that Navarre is one of the communities with the lowest poverty, inequality and unemployment. However, he has indicated that his government is not satisfied with these indicators. “This government obeys, acts and leads, and does so from a perspective of progress,” he added.
He has also claimed that his government has been able “with dialogue and agreement” to implement four budgets and major initiatives during this parliamentary term, contributing to “better democracy, strengthening institutions and claiming the role of of useful politics to the service of prosperity and the common good”.
During his speech, he also asked the opposition “not to lose sight of what is common, what unites us”. In particular, he has urged Navarra Suma to return “to the institutionality it had in other times”, when there is a “deep mistrust” among citizens towards institutions, the media and social organizations, a fact that ” is a hotbed of populism, right-wing and left-wing.”
He has acknowledged that “a complicated year is ahead”, but “we will make progress on a commitment to Navarre”.
