Political martini – “lust for power, greed for money”: Kickl hands out forcefully

Date:

FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl was the “star guest” of the “Political Martini” of the Tyrolean FPÖ on Thursday evening in the municipality of Mils near Imst. In a speech lasting about an hour, he launched an all-out attack on the ‘political elites’. These were driven by “lust for power and money” with, for example, the Corona measures or the sanctions against Russia.

Above all, Kickl vehemently denounced the “alignment of the stories in the prevailing politics” for a packed ballroom in the “Trofana Tirol”. This has spread in both Corona and Russia and still does. “Everyone is programmed the same, and really it’s nonsense”. It is important to “take this policy off the high horse” and re-enter politics “that the majority of the population really wants”.

“The system is in crisis”
The truth is that the elites in the EU and in Austrian politics are already numbered: “The system is in crisis, it is only on the defensive.” In any case, recent years have seen how far this system wants to go: “Basic rights and freedoms have been subordinated to the interests of power”. Because the Corona policy “wasn’t about the health of the population for a second,” says Kickl. “A few hundred have benefited, while millions foot the bill.”

“Put questionable characters in craft”
The FPÖ boss described these “several hundred” as “dubious figures”. “We will put an end to these people,” he added. When it comes to corona measures, some of those responsible will “end up in court”. They are also responsible for the current inflation: “The lockdowns have cost billions, leading to a soft euro”. Together with a ‘wrong currency policy’ this has really started the inflation wave.

“Open Day” about asylum policy
In his speech, Kickl also consistently denounced the federal government’s asylum policies as wrong. “Currently there is an open house 365 days a year”. On the other hand, he is in favor of “completely stopping asylum applications this year” and “taking tough action”. With him in power, the “white flag of surrender” would no longer fly at the Austrian border, but the red-white-red flag of the homeland. If that doesn’t happen, you’ll soon have “Paris conditions and street fights”.

Kickl dreams of chancellorship
But before that happens, Kickl says the FPÖ will be number one in the upcoming National Council elections. A Liberal Chancellor is also within reach. For that to happen, you just have to “go on calmly and consistently as before”. A first step has already been taken in Tyrol: “The sensational election result is a huge motivation boost”, he alluded to the FPÖ’s victory in the federal elections on September 25. “Markus Abwerzger is the future governor of Tyrol,” he said optimistically, praising his Tyrolean state party chairman about the green clover.

Abwerzger himself, as Kickl’s previous speaker, had again made the same claim to be governor. “It’s not a dream, because Rome wasn’t built in a day either,” said the blue Tyrolean frontman. With him at the helm, there would also be no “asylum tents”, but a governor who “visits people affected by inflation rather than asylum seekers”. “Deportation instead of deliveries” should be the motto in the current asylum problem, emphasized the Tyrolean FPÖ boss, who came second behind the ÖVP in the state elections.
