For the years 2016 to 2021, the Wirtschaftsbund Vorarlberg has to pay just over 770,000 euros in taxes. This was announced by the executive chairman of the Wirtschaftsbund, Karlheinz Rüdisser, in a broadcast on Thursday.
The additional payment relates to sales tax and corporation tax, no tax assessment has yet been received with regard to the donation. The reports are monitored and any complaints are kept open, Rüdisser said.
The tax audit, which lasted more than eight months, mainly concerned the payment of taxes for advertisements sold for the Wirtschaftsbund newspaper “Vorarlberger Wirtschaft”. Because advertising revenues exploded somewhat from 2018, this company was no longer considered sovereign by the Tax Authorities.
Since the Tax and Customs Administration considers the Economic Association, unlike other bodies, to be a partisan association, a gift tax of approximately 105,000 euros can be expected for the years 2017 to 2021, according to the former Economic Commissioner.
